Design Actions
I focused on the design of Silvertown Quays and have developed some objective criteria which will be brought up throughout to assess whether my proposals live up to the vision.
I tried to incorporate economic, environmental and social sustainability through mixed-use development, opening up of green spaces and provision of community engagement areas.
Objectives
Ensure sympathetic massing around Heritage assets and create a lively environment surrounding them
Easy movement across the site and encouragement of sustainable transportation
Incorporate green public realm, interaction with nature and promote environmental stewardship
Bring people closer to the water edge and their interaction with it
Create a site for everyone, locals and tourists through establishing an arts orientated heritage-led identity
Through the placement of buildings, their uses and pathways ensure active edges are persistent via creating overall an active site
