The development aimed to create a high quality mixed-use waterfront space, which would attract tourists and locals to live and work in the area

The area was divided into 5 sections that all tie together. This is similar to splitting the royal docks into different wharfs with a shared identity.

The development aimed to reconnect the dockland to the city by using its heritage and waterfront assets, which would bring people together to enjoy the many cafes, bars, restaurants, shops and leisure facilities on offer
